Join us as we drill down the specifics of accounting and finance work in the nonprofit world. We have two specialists joining us for the second workshop in the 2017 Loudoun Nonprofit Academy series

Kara Santmyer will provide local nonprofit leaders with updates on requirements of annual tax filings and the Form 990, governance issues and required policies, as well as explain new accounting standards in the pipeline for 2018.

Shelley Kasten is a trained Quickbooks teacher and will offer a four hour tutorial on accounting 101, sales, gifts, donors & customers tracking, expense management, account payable, bank reconciliation, and essential and nice-to-have reports. The tutorial will center conversation around Quickbooks for desktop.

Bios:
Kara Santmyer is a 2012 graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Information Systems. Kara works for Mitchell & Co., P.C., a Public Accounting firm that actively participates in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA). 


Shelley Katen with Not Just Numbers, LLC is an Enrolled Agent with the IRS and has been in the accounting industry since 2005. A QuickBooks® ProAdvisor since 2009, she loves educating clients who are able to take back to their own businesses everything they learned and incorporate the info effectively.

The Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the launch of the Loudoun Nonprofit Academy training and certificate series in partnership with the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties and Loudoun Cares.

Nonprofit Academy attendees that complete 40 hours of Academy training earn a "Certified Nonprofit Professionals" designation from the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce.
