Camping with Willowsford Conservancy

Camping is a fun, relaxing way to experience nature and spend quality family time outdoors. It also has dozens of health benefits from fresh air, reduced stress, physical activity and more! That's why The Conservancy is excited to offer an afternoon of camping workshops, games and demonstrations for the entire family - on Sunday, May 22, at The Greens Village. Ongoing from 1 - 4 p.m. - Outdoor & Camping Games for all Ages; Make-your-own Trail Mix Station; Loudoun County 4-H Outdoor Adventure Club demonstrations (learn to build a camp fire, set up your hammock, and more!); and Exhibitors (explore camping, cooking and hiking gear and equipment, and how to plan for your family campout). 1:15 - 1:45 pm - Cooking Outdoors: Explore techniques, cooking gear, and tips for preparing a tasty family meal. Also learn about food prepping, food safety, and fire safety. 2 - 2:15 pm - Camping 101 for Families and First-time Campers. What is camping? Find the camping style that suits you. Tips for camping with children. Making it fun! 2:30 - 3 p.m. - Cooking Outdoors Explore techniques, cooking gear, and tips for preparing a tasty family meal.
