Artist Reception at North Gate Vineyard-Liz Friedman

Liz Friedman is an avid nature lover, artist and amateur photographer who has been shooting close-up images of local flora and fauna for the past 11 years. With the advent of digital photography, Liz began stalking critters in their element at local nature preserves and botanical gardens to capture and create portraits that showcased each creature’s individual beauty. By showcasing nature in a way that people can connect on a more personal basis, Liz hopes to inspire people to notice, appreciate, preserve and protect the natural spaces and species surrounding them.
Liz’s photos have been exhibited at the Jo Ann Rose Gallery at Reston’s Lake Ann, Claude Moore Park, and Meadowlark Gardens; and calendars and holiday ornaments with her nature images were sold in the Meadowlark Gardens Gift Shop in the winter of 2008-2009. She won numerous ribbons and awards at the Claude Moore Park Expo in 2009 and took home Honorable Mention at the 2009 juried Nature Visions Photo Expo held at Meadowlark Gardens. Liz is a member of the League of Reston Artists and the Reston Photographic Society.
