Loudoun Nonprofit Academy Workshop: Financial Management and Operational Effectiveness for Nonprofits

Community serving nonprofit entities are invited to join us for a dynamic capacity building training, focused on financial management practices and operational effectiveness that strengthen nonprofit organizations. This engaging session will cover a wide range of critical topics including: the implementation of sound fiscal controls, revenue diversification strategies, budget formulation and management, financial forecasting, audit readiness, vendor and contract oversight, and the integration of technology solutions to streamline financial operations. Additionally, the session will explore the strategic role of financial advisors in nonprofit governance and decision-making. The training aims to offer practical insights for nonprofit leaders.

About the Presenter:  Clifford Yee serves as Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS), where he leads finance, technology, procurement, facilities, risk management, and social enterprise functions for the $40M organization. With more than 20 years of experience spanning the consulting, financial services, and nonprofit sectors, Cliff brings a unique cross-sector perspective to financial leadership and capacity building. Before joining NVFS, Cliff led social impact consulting at Raffa (now CBIZ) and oversaw over $300M in community investments as SVP of Community Affairs at Capital One. He holds an MBA from the Peter F. Drucker School of Management and multiple certificates in nonprofit leadership and strategy from institutions including Harvard Business School and UC Berkeley.
